چکیده

Burns are one of the most widespread traumatic injuries. The number victims burns worldwide is steadily increasing. All this determines search for new highly effective methods treating burned patients. (1.2.4.5.20.)The main requirements wound healing creation an optimal microenvironment healing, high absorption capacity exudate, ability to prevent ingress microorganisms, sufficient permeability gases, water vapor, elasticity, pyrogenicity, lack antigen, toxic, local irritants and allergic reactions. Keywords:obligate component, amniotic membrane, hematocrit value, burn treatment, amnion

Amniotic membrane as a biological dressing in infected wound healing in rabbits.

PURPOSE To investigate amniotic membrane as a biological dressing in infected wound healing in rabbits. METHODS The use of preserved amniotic membranes (AMs) was examined using 15 rabbits with experimentally induced wound infections on their backs. Healing was histologically evaluated during different phases including inflammation, granulation, epithelialization, and fibroplasia. The animals ...

Human amniotic membrane: a versatile wound dressing.

Human amniotic membrane proved to be a versatile and useful temporary biologic dressing in studies involving 120 patients. Wounds, both traumatic and nontraumatic in origin, responded to a protocol that allowed coverage of tissues as diverse as exposed bowel, pleura, pericardium, blood vessels, tendon, nerve and bone. Wounds unresponsive to usual therapeutic measures responded to membrane appli...

Amniotic membrane can be a valid source for wound healing

UNLABELLED Amniotic membrane (AM) can promote proper epithelialization with suppression of excessive fibrosis by creating a supportive milieu for regeneration of chronic ulcer bed. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study is to investigate whether AM scaffold can modulate the healing of a wound by promoting tissue reconstruction rather than promoting scar tissue formation. SUBJECTS AND METHODS...

Evaluation of Human Amniotic Membrane as a Wound Dressing for Split-Thickness Skin-Graft Donor Sites

Human amniotic membrane (HAM) has been used as a biomaterial in various surgical procedures and exceeds some qualities of common materials. We evaluated HAM as wound dressing for split-thickness skin-graft (STSG) donor sites in a swine model (Part A) and a clinical trial (Part B). Part A: STSG donor sites in 4 piglets were treated with HAM or a clinically used conventional polyurethane (PU) foi...

Human amniotic membrane as a versatile biological dressing--a preliminary report.

The subject of human amniotic membrane as a biological dressing is reviewed and experience of four wounds, three from acute burns and one from trauma is presented. Freeze dried amniotic membrane was used as the material for application next to the wound after the usual surgical cleansing. This process was repeated daily or on alternate days depending on the individual response. Beneficial effec...
